Summer is winding down & we’re just getting started!

We had a busy summer here at Central! Especially in July with both our 100 year celebration and VBS! We’re not stopping there! Check out upcoming events and opportunities here:

• August 6 – Back to School Bash!

Join us for our 5th Annual Bash to pass out backpacks full of supplies for kids in our community! Bruce Ferko started this amazing ministry with us and we are pleased and honored to continue his mission to serve the kids in our community and help get them started for a successful year! This is a great morning of service and fellowship! This will be a drive-thru event and we’ll start passing out bags at 8am until we run out! The more the merrier! Come lend a hand – help spread the word to families you know who might benefit from free school supplies!

• August 7 – Come to worship and meet our pastoral candidate, Veronica Czutor!

We are delighted to meet Vicar Veronica who will be leading worship with us on Sunday. This is our opportunity to meet the candidate presented by our Call Committee and approved by our council! Plan to join us for in-person worship with a reception immediately following.

• August 13 – Summer Saturday Social – 6:00pm

Our last cook-out for the summer! We anticipate 100 or so degrees again so we will likely be cooking inside on our Foreman Grills! Bring whatever your family would like to have cooked on the grill for supper and a side and/or dessert to share! Enjoy the fellowship and great food!

• August 20 – Dining Out – 5:30pm

RSVP to Ylva Wolfgang or the church office (214-327-2222; central.lutheran.dallas@gmail.com) by Aug 17! This time we’ll be at Andrea’s Italian Restaurant, 7620 Gaston Ave, Dallas. Word is it’s a great little Italian place with a nice quiet atmosphere for easy visiting!

• August 27 – Calendar Planning meeting – at Bethany

We’ll be meeting at our Bethany campus, 10101 Walnut Hill Ln, in the Fellowship Hall, 9:30-12:30 to discuss plans, ideas, and events to get on the calendar this fall thru January! Do you have events you want us to continue? A new idea to share? Come by the meeting on Saturday! Light breakfast snacks will be available. Can’t make it that morning?
