Summer-time FUN!
We are having a busy summer here at Central! See what all is happening and where you might fit in! We’ve already had a cook out and Kona Ice fun in June – check out what else is coming:
- NOW through July 10
We’re collecting all types of school supplies to fill 240 backpacks to hand out in August. Because of our busy July, we need those items by July 10!! See our Sign up Genius list here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044caeac2ca13-2021
UPDATE, July 9: bring any of the following: vinyl folders with pockets and brads, #2 pencils, 24-count boxes of crayons, black or blue ball-point pens, red ball-point pens, 3″ 3-ring binders, yellow highlighters, pack of 4-colors highlighters, pencil boxes, big pink erasers, 10-count washable markers, wide-rule notebook paper, 8-subject 3-ring binder subject dividers (with pockets!), youth scissors for older kids, 3×5 lined index cards, 1-subject spiral notebooks wide-rule), composition notebooks.

Donations can be dropped in the offering plate or mailed to the church, 1000 Easton Rd, Dallas, Tx 75218; paid through paypal to centrallutheran.org or paid through Givelify – just be sure to specify it is for school supplies.
- Sunday, June 26 – Work day
-right after our congregational meeting, lunch provided! We’ve got a little straightening up and organizing to do in a few areas. Good indoor work to do with all this heat! Enjoy the fellowship while we work together.
- July 17 – Fill the Backpacks party!
Immediately after worship on July 17, we’ll take 30 minutes or so to fill the backpacks with all the supplies to be ready for the Back to School Bash on August 6. For those who are volunteers for VBS – we’ll then have lunch, provided, and stay for just a bit of an orientation and share the details/plans for VBS week.
- Vacation Bible School is Coming!
Be sure and check out details on our VBS page to register your child for our Mystery Island VBS! July 25-29. Mon-Thurs will be 9am-2pm, Friday Splash Day will be 9am-noon with a parent reception and program starting just before noon. Our Pre-K class is already full! Register now to be sure there’s space for you! Parents and teens are welcome as volunteers, too. Contact our director: VBS director
- A Century at Central!
Celebrating 100 years of worship and service this summer! July 22-24 we have special events planned capped off with worship and catered lunch on Sunday, July 24 – come join the celebration! More details are on our Anniversary Page – a Century at Central
- August 6 – Back to School Bash!
Join us for our 5th Annual Bash to pass out backpacks full of supplies for kids in our community! This is a great morning of service and fellowship! We’ll start passing out bags at 8am until we run out! The more the merrier! Come lend a hand – help spread the word to families you know who might benefit from free school supplies!
