2022 – a Century Celebration begins
2022 is finally here and we are ready to begin recognizing and remembering our first century of service and worship here in the Central & East Dallas community! Check out the “100 Yr Anniversary” page for information and updates about activities and plans.
First up will be Scout Sunday on February 6. All current and past scouts are encouraged to join us with your families for worship that day. UPDATE – with continued high Covid activity in our community, worship is currently online only. Past and present scouts are encouraged to join us for worship virtually on Sunday, 2/6, at 10:30 am (central time) on Facebook at facebook.com/CentralLutheranDallas
And speaking of Covid…. we are all beyond ready for this to go away, aren’t we?! But, we continue to strive to do our part to help each other and our community stay as healthy as possible – physically, mentally, and spiritually! January 9 and 16 we will not meet in person and will hold worship online on Facebook only. Bulletins are here on the bulletins page. After January 16, we will reassess how things are going in the community to determine if we’ll resume in person at that time or continue just on-line a bit longer.
Our Congregational meeting has been postponed from January 16 to, probably, January 30th, reflecting our efforts to minimize in-person contact. We will update that information here as soon as it is finalized.
In the meantime: know that you are loved. God is ever faithful and continues to support us through these challenging days. Your church is here for you, don’t hesitate to let us know if you need anything.
Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
