Spring happenings – 2019!

We are busy here around Central Lutheran! Spring is in the air and Easter is just around the corner! Take a look at our upcoming activities and see where you’d like to join in!

Lenten soup suppers & vespers – Each Wednesday during Lent we’ll enjoy a light, soup supper together at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall followed by a vesper service at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.  This is a special time to come together mid-week as we prepare for Easter. (Wednesdays: March 13, 20, 27 and April 3 & 10)

Saturday, March 23 – 9:00-noon bring your sewing machines and join us for a time of work and fellowship! We need to do a little sewing on some of the items for the baby bundles for Lutheran World Relief. We’ll do the sewing and assemble the bundles during this special time of fellowship and service. No sewing skills? No problem! You can help with organizing supplies, cutting, and pinning hems!

Wednesday, March 27 join us for a special NOON ORGAN VESPERS led by organist Harold Knight. This will be a special opportunity to make a break in the middle of your day for renewal and worship… and enjoy beautiful organ music.

Saturday, April 6 – 10:00-1:00 – First Saturday cleaning day!  If the weather cooperates, we plan to work outside doing some scraping, caulking and painting! Wear appropriate clothes for getting messy! There will be cleaning opportunities inside if you aren’t able to help with that type of work outside or if the weather doesn’t cooperate!

Saturday, April 13 – 9:00, Sanctuary cleaning as we prepare for Easter. Bring your dust rags and help us chase out the cob webs for a little spring spruce up!

Palm Sunday, April 14: gather at 9:45 as we continue our tradition for a neighborhood parade prior to worship at 10:30

Maundy Thursday, April 18: 7:00 pm communion service

Good Friday, April 19: 7:30 pm Tennebrae, service of darkness which includes the last words of Christ

EASTER MORNING – April 21: 9:00am  our youth will provide the annual breakfast – all you can eat waffles, pancakes & all the trimmings! 10:30 worship
