Our History

We are an ELCA congregation serving East Dallas, born from the merger of Bethany Lutheran Church and Central Lutheran Church. Our unified community officially began in 2023, blending the faithful legacies and deep-rooted histories of both congregations, each of which has long served the people of East Dallas with love and dedication.

Our new congregation was formed with a vision to serve God’s children even more effectively. In this transition, we made the decision to retain Central Lutheran Church’s name and property, supporting our ministries through the sale of Bethany Lutheran Church’s property (10101 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas). We are currently located at 1000 Easton Road Dallas.

With humility and gratitude, we honor the cloud of witnesses – those who came before us in faith – who laid the foundation for our journey today. Their legacy reminds us of our responsibility to be faithful stewards, preserving and building upon this history as we seek to answer God’s call today. As we blend these rich traditions from our predecessor churches, Bethany Lutheran and Central Lutheran, we are prayerfully discerning our unique mission and identity as a new congregation.
