Community Chats

In the spring of 2024, Central Lutheran started an experiment as part of our involvement with the Congregations Lead Initiative (a national program with the ELCA). The goal of this experiment was to foster connections between members and neighbors. Four times a month over the summer, we led discussion groups in various places in the neighborhood. During these discussions, there will was a central theme that we asked meaningful questions about. As we opened discussion, we hoped to learn more about each other on a deeper level.

We have decided to continue the Community Chats into the fall. Our next one will be on October 2 from 5:30-7:30 at Lochwood Library (11221 Lochwood Blvd, Dallas, TX 75218). The topic will be how to prevent fall risks for senior citizens. The talk will be led by board-certified geriatric physical therapist (and church member), Alesia Pearson. Anyone who is a senior or has a senior citizen in their life is welcome to attend.
